River Soar Boat Covers

The River Soar Navigation runs 24 miles through the heart of Leicestershire from Leicester city centre northwards to its confluence with the River Trent at Trent Lock near Long Eaton, connecting to the Grand Union Canal via a junction in Leicester. The navigation is a canalised river with 16 locks, providing a beautiful and varied cruising route through the Soar Valley. Leicester offers some of the best city centre moorings in the Midlands, with good access to the historic city centre, the National Space Centre, and King Richard III's tomb in the cathedral. North of Leicester, the river passes through the pretty village of Barrow-upon-Soar and the historic town of Loughborough before entering the broad Trent Valley and meeting the main river. The Soar Valley countryside is predominantly pastoral and open, meaning boats moored in the rural sections are exposed to considerable UV in summer and the variable East Midlands climate throughout the year.
