Yes, coastal boat owners can enquire through our postal service. Show the existing cover fitted at its normal mooring and discuss the retained supports, fastenings and exposure before agreeing a replacement.

Discuss your cover design, retained supports, fastening layout and exposure with Ryan. Fabric choice alone does not establish suitability for every coastal mooring or weather condition.

Replacement fabric is made for suitable retained supports and fastenings. Agree the refitting requirements, supplied fixings and any advice with Ryan before ordering. We do not supply or install new supporting frames or provide a local fitting visit.

The postal service does not require bringing your boat to our workshop. Take fitted photographs before removing the cover and agree the job and refitting requirements first. Plan how the boat will be protected while the cover is away.

A canopy generally uses retained supports to enclose an agreed cockpit area; a tonneau closes an agreed cockpit or deck opening. Hood terminology varies: a narrowboat pram hood covers the rear stern area, while a cratch cover closes the separate bow area. Show the actual arrangement rather than relying on a label.

A spray hood usually protects a forward cockpit or companionway area; a canopy may enclose more of the cockpit. Names and arrangements vary by boat. Show which panels, windows, retained supports and fastenings the replacement must match.

We replace fabric for agreed canopy, tonneau, cratch and other supported cover areas. We do not make whole-boat or winter-storage covers. Discuss the actual opening, retained supports and drainage rather than treating a tonneau as whole-boat storage protection.

Marine canvas is a general term for fabrics used in boat covers and enclosures. Discuss the actual material, panel design, supports, handling and care requirements with Ryan; different fabrics have different properties.

Enquire about replacement bimini fabric for your existing supports. Send fitted photographs and agree whether the old fabric is a suitable pattern before posting it. We do not supply or install new supporting frames.

Discuss marine acrylic and PVC options with Ryan against the agreed cover design, windows, retained supports and handling. Confirm current material and colour availability before ordering.

Weather protection depends on the fabric, seams, openings, fit, supports, drainage and care. Discuss the intended use and any water-entry or pooling problems with Ryan before agreeing the specification.

Confirm the available material colours with Ryan. An existing faded cover, screen colour or photograph does not guarantee an exact colour or branding match.

We assess replacement fabric for agreed narrowboat and canal-boat cover areas, including bow cratch covers and stern hoods on suitable retained supports. This is not a whole-boat storage-cover service.

Send fitted photographs of your narrowboat canopy, retained frame, openings and fastenings. Agree pattern suitability, replacement panels and the quote before removing or posting anything. New supporting frames and framework installation are not supplied.

Follow the instructions for the agreed fabric and windows. Remove debris, avoid harsh chemicals and abrasion, maintain supports and drainage, and allow the cover to dry before storage. Ask Ryan before using a cleaner or reproofing product.

Service life depends on fabric, fit, exposure, handling and care. Inspect seams, windows, cloth and fastenings regularly. No fixed number of years is promised.

Send photographs of the fault and surrounding cover for assessment before posting it. General boat-cover repairs start from £70, subject to suitability and an individual quote. Worn surrounding cloth or changed supports can affect whether repair is appropriate.
