The Lee Navigation is a canalised river running 28 miles from Hertford in the north through the Lee Valley into the Thames at Limehouse Basin in East London, connecting to the Regent's Canal. The entire route passes through the Lee Valley Regional Park, one of the most important green corridors in the south-east of England, linking the Olympic Park at Stratford with the countryside of Hertfordshire. The navigation connects at its northern end with Hertford town, a pleasant market town with good marina facilities, and at its southern end with the heart of East London's waterways network.
