Crinan Canal Boat Covers

The Crinan Canal cuts just 9 miles across the Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll, saving yachts and motorboats the 130-mile passage around the Mull of Kintyre — one of the most treacherous headlands in British waters. Opened in 1801 and known as the 'Royal Road' after Queen Victoria used it during a Highland tour, the canal has 15 locks and passes through some of the most scenic Scottish landscape imaginable, with views of the ancient Kilmartin Valley — one of Scotland's most important prehistoric sites — and Knapdale Forest. Crinan Basin at the western end of the canal provides a memorable moment: emerging from the last lock to see the dramatic sea view across the Sound of Jura, with the Paps of Jura on the horizon. The canal is used by a mix of cruising yachts, commercial fishing boats, and the occasional narrowboat, requiring covers that suit diverse vessel types.
