About the Team

UK Boat Covers is run by Ryan and a small, specialist team based in Carterton, Oxfordshire. Every cover we make leaves our own workshop — there is no outsourcing, no middleman, and no compromise on fit or material quality.

Ryan has been making bespoke marine canvas and boat covers for over a decade. His background is in pattern-making and marine upholstery, which means every cover starts with a pattern taken directly from your boat's dimensions — or, where a postal copy service is used, from your existing cover. That direct pattern process is the reason our covers fit so precisely without a site visit.

How We Work

We are a working workshop, not a showroom. Most customers never visit us — they send their old cover by post or provide their boat's measurements, and we return a finished cover within six working days. That approach lets us keep costs down (no showroom overheads, no VAT registration) and deliver consistent quality to customers across the whole of the United Kingdom.

We cover boats of every kind: river cruisers, narrowboats, GRP day boats, coastal cruisers, and canal boats. If it floats and needs a cover, we have almost certainly made something similar before.

Our Materials

We use marine-grade PVC and woven acrylic (similar to Weblon and Sunbrella grades) as standard. Both fabrics are UV-stabilised, waterproof, and breathable enough to prevent condensation build-up under the cover. Colour options are available on request — dark navy, mid-grey, and forest green are the most popular choices among our customers.
