Do You Need to Take Measurements?

For most orders, the answer is no. Our postal copy service uses your existing cover as the pattern — which means we work from the actual shape, not from dimensions you've measured. Measurements introduce error; a physical cover pattern eliminates it entirely. If you have an existing cover, post it to us and we will do the rest.

When Measurements Are Needed

Measurements are useful in two situations: when you're requesting a quote before deciding whether to proceed, and when you don't have an existing cover at all (for example, ordering a cover for the first time).

For a Quote

To give an accurate quote, we need: overall boat length (LOA), maximum beam at gunwale level, and the type of cover required (tonneau, canopy, etc.). For canopies, it also helps to know whether the boat has a windscreen, hoop, or other overhead structure, as this affects the canopy profile significantly. Contact us with these details and we'll provide a fixed quote.

For a New Cover Without an Original

If you have no existing cover, measurements become important. We'll guide you through exactly what to measure — typically LOA, beam, freeboard height, cockpit length, and a few profile measurements. For canopies, photos from all four sides showing the helm position and any overhead structure are more useful than measurements alone.
